Around 5am (KST) on September 28, a major accident occurred at the Nonhyeon-dong intersection of Seoul's Gangnam District, involving multiple vehicles and drivers.
27-year-old Lee, who was driving his car in a heavily intoxicated state, crashed into a total of six vehicles when he tried to make a right turn at an intersection, including a taxi and an expensive imported vehicle.
A 54-year-old taxi driver identified as Mr. Oh was the one most grievously injured, and nine others, also impacted by the accident, were immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Lee then drove his car not even a full mile from the scene of the first accident, crashing into an additional two vehicles which were parked in a residential area near Hakdong Station.
At the time of the incidents, Lee's blood alcohol level was found to be at 0.073%, which is high enough to get one's driver's license suspended. Because Lee caused accidents, however, his license was revoked.
