With King Lee Yoon (KY) ousted for 'treason,' Gwi sits atop the throne and attempts to dabble in the art of politicking. Sung Yeol (SY) regains his human conscience. KY is circled by a bunch of Gwi's henchmen who turn their swords on him. So what happened after these developments? Read on to find out, mates!

Gwi may not be as well-rounded as he thinks he is. He is a master at being sexy, flexing his pecs, and coiffing and fluffing his locks to absolute perfection…but when it comes to ruling a nation? It seems Gwi hasn't got a clue. He tramples on the constitution parchments instead of reading them, bribes the council members by telling them he will give the Chief Left position to the person that brings him the most silver, and drinks the blood of guards on night watch duty. Whatever Gwi is planning, it can't be good. And then we have the Prime Minister Choi Cheol Joong huffing and puffing because he wanted the throne for himself. Plus, Hye Ryeong (HR) is now back to being Gwi's 'queen' aka slave. Karma is a b*tch, ain't it prime minister?

Hey baby, don't worry about what people say about your mustache cause I LIKE it.

KY convinces the men who turned on him to join his forces in the fight against Gwi. Some abide while others flee. SY, having defeated his inner fiend, returns to the world sound and whole...save for one teeny little issue: he can't remember anything that happened when he was transformed. It's almost like he got drunk on Yang Sun (YS)'s blood, had a wild night, then blacked out. Don't party so hardy scholar, you have a rep to upkeep!

When you find out there's a final.... tomorrow.

Later we find out why Gwi had ordered for silver and bitten all those people. He turned them into vampires and set them loose on the citizens at select locations in the capital. Then he would go and 'save' the people from the vampires. It's just like Gwi to use this dirty way to win the hearts of the public. That's not all. Gwi frames SY as the vampire who bit all the poor citizens. I'm a little skeptical about this whole scenario because wouldn't someone think it a bit strange that every time, Gwi knew exactly where the vampires would be running rampant?

SY goes through a mid-century crisis after his tete-a-tete with Gwi. Gwi asks if SY is indeed as 'clean' as he believes himself to be, and if he can live without human blood. Gwi then questions why he's protecting the people who fear and loathe him. SY falls into depression and abject self-hate because of the realization that in the end he is no different than Gwi and that he is still just a monster even though he may harbor a human heart.

Hey girl, how do you like me in my kingly robes.

KY, his 'Black Robes,' and SY suspect Gwi's devious plan to make SY public enemy number one. They take in into their hands to foil Gwi's tactic by showing up at the designated spot of slaughter and killing all the vampires before Gwi does. Once the citizens see that SY is their true savior and learn that he is the fabled, heroic 'Night scholar,' they slowly start to warm up to him. I'm just afraid that people's already shaky trust will come crumbling down with the slightest provocations from Gwi.
