The news was a bit slower than usual this week but the office was still busy updating on the past scandals that have been making headlines, some of which started as long ago as last year! While some legal battles saw a nice conclusion this week, others made a turn for the worse and got even more complicated. If you think you can handle all the drama, read on!

B.A.P return to TS
B.A.P, who had departed TS Entertainment for a longstanding legal struggle, returned to the agency. TS Entertainment released a statement on August 3, revealing that the two parties have reconciled and reached an agreement, claiming that they have regained the trust of the members. The conflict wasn't completely over however as the media continued to cover the story of the dispute between B.A.P and TS Entertainment. One headline in particular had caught the eye of Zelo, compelling the singer to voice his distress on the insensitivity and indecency of the title which had referred to the group as "disobedient."
Kris speaks up
Kris came forward with his first public statement after the lawsuit SM filed against him and the Chinese companies that he has been working with. No one will ever know exactly what happened between SM and Kris; yet, it's clear that both sides harbor grievances. Many are divided on this issue it seems, but one thing is for certain: EXO-L's would like nothing more than to see their favorite group as a whole again.
CL's U.S. debut
YG's "Baddest Female," CL may be debuting in the U.S. soon! Not much information was revealed about this said debut save for a very vague statement from one of CL's friends. Supposedly, the rapper finished working on the songs that she will release in America; the only thing she has left to do is the filming of the MVs. Due to the little amount of detail that was spared, fans are left with no clue as to just how, when, and where (as in on the radio, TV, or both or some other channel) CL will be releasing her U.S. debut songs. I'm hoping that CL will approach her western debut more creatively than previous K-Pop stars, as the western mainstream pop market has proved not so easily penetrable by East Asian artists.
G-Friend lip-syncing?
The ladies of G-Friend have been receiving much adulation for their new single "Me Gusta Tu." Now they are on the receiving end of some flak for lip-syncing the song on 'Super Junior's Kiss the Radio." While it's not uncommon for idols to have their songs playing in the background for live performances, some fans were still disappointed. Just listen to "Me Gusta Tu" again and I'm sure you will forget about this whole incident. OMG, G-Friend was lip-syncing??? Personally, who cares? Just give their latest song a listen, it's catchy as hell.
The group may have been caught lip-syncing but G-Friend showed that they are ever the professional idols on a recent live performance. Yuju's shoe slips off at one point as the formation of the members change, but the group press on as though nothing happened, with Yuju dancing and smiling on for the audience!
Kim Hyun Joong the baby daddy
There just seems to be no end to the ongoing drama between Kim Hyun Joong and Ms. Choi. Thanks to this spectacle, I gorged on way too much popcorn, so much so that now my insides are probably popcorn. The conflict just keeps getting messier and messier and both parties seems to have dug themselves into deeper holes. Kim Hyun Joong's lawyer isn't really helping the situation from what the reports are saying, as he fails to allay the situation and just adds more fuel to the fire. That fire rose even higher recently with the sad job of an explanation that the lawyer gave on the abusive texts Kim Hyun Joong sent to Ms. Choi. Now the reports are claiming that Choi has been banned from leaving the country and that she sued Kim Hyun Joong for libel and defamation. Kind of hard to keep up isn't it? What's worse is that the whole issue isn't affecting just Kim Hyun Joong and Choi; it is affecting those around them, as well.
Rest In Peace
It's always distressing to hear news of death in the Korean entertainment industry. In the past week, Broken Valentine's Van and Do Eun Young were said to have left the world to rest in a better place. While the cause of death for Do Eun Young remains unclear, people around her mentioned that the singer suffered from depression and that she may have overdosed on sleeping pills. Van on the other hand, was playing in the water with his friends when he accidentally drowned. May the two souls rest in peace.
SM's ongoing drama with its artists
Much the to dismay of SONES, former Girls' Generation member Jessica has permanently departed from SM. The two sides both released statements, and it appears as though the singer and the label were to reconcile peacefully and go their separate ways. This is a new beginning for Jessica and she looks to be moving forward with a positive mindset! She wrote a cursory yet reassuring message to fans that she misses them and to "keep smiling." Yes girl, you do you boo boo!
In sorta-kinda related SM news, Sulli has dropped out of f(x), which either came as a big shock or a was met with an "I knew it." The singer will now be focusing more on her acting career, and will no longer be associated with any of f(x)'s activities.
Tardy Tao
With his recent solo debut in China, Tao is steadily becoming more and more popular in China. But a recent faux pas by the singer just may put a screeching halt to that popularity. Supposedly, media outlet Sina scheduled an interview with Tao, but he was over an hour late due to his makeup and hair appointment running late. In the end, he couldn't make it to interview, which resulted in the singer receiving criticism. Tao's management tried to point the blame on themselves but it seems the milk done spilled already.
