A 26-year-old man named Mr. Im, a resident of Busan's Haeundae District, is appalling consumers with a story of how he suffered burn marks all over his body from his S6.
Im got his hands on a new S6 sometime last month at a cell phone store in Busan. The S6 heated up even when he first started using it, but the heating had turned worse when he fell asleep with the phone left on the charger. When Im woke up the next day, he was shocked to discover burns all over his backside. Apparently, the phone was hot enough to sear his flesh through the t-shirt he was wearing, leaving ugly burn marks.
Of course, Im didn't quietly suffer but contacted the Samsung customer service center in the Busan Gwangalli area to report his incident and right this wrong. Im was told to contact the service center again. After his phone was inspected, the representatives at the service center repeatedly told him that nothing can be done because there were no mechanical defects to the phone. Im expressed his wish to exchange his S6 for a new phone for fear that his phone may eventually explode; however, the service center simply told him "there's nothing wrong" and sent him on his way.
So Im, despite his injuries, kept the phone, unable to even get proper treatment at the hospital due to being busy with running his business.
The service center declared, "We examined the phone but because we didn't find any problems, we have nothing to say."
Meanwhile, Samsung's PR department said, "We will provide a detailed answer after finding out the truth behind how the client who suffered burns was serviced."
