On the July 25 broadcast of SBS's 'That's What I Want to Know,' a conversation that the mother and one of the sons exchanged on the show prompted listeners to question the authenticity behind their testimonies.
When the show's crew briefly left their seats, the mother and the second son said some suspicious things while unaware that the mics and cameras were still on. The mother and the second son could be heard saying, "Why did you testify like that? Why would you say something that could raise suspicion?" and "You are a skilled persuader." Subsequent to this telling broadcast, the administrator for 'A Scarred Yet Beautiful Woman,' a blog that was created to drill out the truth behind the horrific tale of abuse, was shut down after a notice was uploaded on the site.
The administrator of the site was reported to have said, "I couldn't help but be appalled after watching the show. There were too many parts that contradicted with the victim 'A' said. The 8 administrators [who ran the site] are not people that are directly related to 'A' but are people that simply took pity on the victims' situation and wanted to help them out."
The administrator added, "I thought, what kind of mother in this world would try to use their children's pain as a means of gain? There is no way you can't lament this state of affairs for the boys who debased themselves to the level of liars and con artists," and offered an apology to multiple parties, "We apologize to all the netizens who were shook up [by this incident]. We also apologize to the police, reps from the hospital, SBS's 'That's What I Want to Know' production crew, and disturbing the flow of business, which was not our original intent. We will halt all fundraising activities and will close the site this coming 31st."
