Arrgh! Don't kill Yeom Mi! I was just kidding about the six days thing in my last review. She's one of my favorite characters. Don't kill her off!
After they pull Moo Gak off Kwon, our hero searches the premises. He's just feet away from the hidden room and never knows it. Meanwhile, Lt. Yeom and Chef Kwon play a game of cat and mouse; she messes with his head the whole time she's in captivity. While all this is going on, two of the detectives stake out the house, and Cho Rim offers herself up in exchange for Lt. Yeom. While she acts as a decoy, a GPS tracker and a liquid with a unique scent are placed in his car, so Cho Rim can follow the scent to his secret entrance once they determine the location of the car. After they devise a way to see scents after rainfall (normally she cannot), they find their way to the hideout. In the meantime, Kwon finally gets to killing Lt. Yeom using anesthetic gas. Moo Gak arrives just in time to find the Lieutenant unconscious from the gas. He draws his gun and presses it to the glass, and Kwon obligingly tilts his head toward the barrel from the opposite side...
"Hello? I'm out of toilet paper! Hello?"
He's got a plan. Chef Kwon always has a plan. That glass is probably bulletproof, and Kwon will bolt when Moo Gak pulls the trigger. Either that or he'll sit there, flash that charming smile of his, and gloat.
Keep digging! The map said the buried treasure was here...
More giant plot holes. I found myself shouting at the screen.
You're a cop. You know he's got the Lieutenant. So you grab a warrant, and you head to his house, you chain up Kwon, and search him to make sure he has nothing on him. Meanwhile you take a pick axe, fire axe, whatever it takes and take those walls down. Not the reinforced outer wall, I'm talking about like the wood paneling inside and the like. Or search the library and find that nifty remote. Press a button and presto! You've found the Lieutenant!
"Story time! Now, where were we? Ah yes...I do not like green eggs and ham..."
And Lt. Yeom is captured. I don't get it. Kwon's in the cell with Lt. Yeom, and there's no struggle? No fighting for her life? With no shackles and the guy mere feet from me, that's the first thing I'd think of. You grab him while he's in there. You would think the officers are trained in some kind of martial art. They're already doing that in the U.S. because of the profusion of MMA studios. Chef Kwon goes down so easy when Moo Gak hits him. If the gas is pouring in, it's a simple matter to jam up the vent with clothing.
"Frankly, I prefer decaf."
There was never a dull moment in this. I think they've tightened it up some, though I could have used more ship time with my new favorite couple. But enough out of me. What do you guys think?
