Along with releasing the 2014 list, 'Gallup Korea' has also provided data from their 2004 survey, comparing how Korean citizens' taste in brands have changed in a decade. The following charts illustrates that change.
Beer
In the chart shown below, while 'Hite' was once the most popular beer in 2004, 'Cass' has now taken over that title with 46% of Koreans preferring the beer brand over others.
Ramen
Meanwhile, the popular ramen brand between 2004 and 2014 remains to be 'Shin Ramen,' which has received 49% and 43% of the votes respectively. There's a huge gap between 'Shin Ramen' and the next popular ramen brand, 'Samyang Ramen,' showing just how much 'Shin Ramen' is dominating in this category.Search Engines / Portal Sites
While 'Daum' used to be the number one web portal in 2004 with 47% of the votes, 'Naver' has taken an overwhelming lead in 2014 with 71%. Now you know which web portals Korea likes to use the most!
Clothes
Looks like Korea's taste in clothes are pretty varied as votes were scattered across different brands. Although 'Beanpole' was picked the most, it only received 6% of the votes.
