Previously, Yoon Mi Rae expressed her intention to take legal action against movie 'The Interview,' produced by Sony Pictures, as well as a third party agency for using her song "Pay Day" in the movie without her consent. However, Sony Pictures had responded with the claim that they had permission for its use through public relations agency Fortune, so her agency Feel Ghood Music released another statement, saying this was a lie.
The agency stated on January 16, "After inquiring into the movie 'The Interview's use of 'Pay Day' without permission, Sony replied that they had a signed contract. We saw no truth in that, so we officially stated on December 26, 2014 that we would take legal action.
"Since then, approximately two weeks later, Sony sent a response saying that the contract they mentioned at the time actually did not exist. We've confirmed that Sony's explanation was a lie. It wasn't convincing, and we want official, legal action from Sony. We will, as expected, take legal action."
