On January 28, the Gyeonggi Police published the above clip of a car chase that occurred earlier this month when six different police cars were dispatched to stop a suicidal, 54-year-old Park driving under the influence of drugs. The way the police cars manage to surround him and get him to stop is pretty epic, so check it out.
Netizens who commented on the above clip applauded the Gyeonggi Police's hard work, saying, "You guys are amazing!" "We are proud to call you South Korea's police force! You worked hard ^^," and, "You worked very hard. We are always thankful! We ask that you continue to take care of us for a long time. Have strength."
The incident occurred on January 19 when Park first called the police, saying that he had a knife and wanted to kill himself. The police found Park on the Giheung Dongtan Interchange and pursued him in a car chase for 10 kilometers. Although Park hit one police car, injuring two officers, the six police cars were ultimately able to close in on Park and stop him.
Park was arrested for drug use and obstruction of justice. He tested positive for methamphetamines. The Gyeonggi Police also found his knife, three syringes filled with three grams of meth, 35 empty syringes, and a plastic bag with two grams of meth in his car. According to reports, Park has been convicted multiple times previously for drug use.
