A post titled, "Debate whether girl group's teaser is similar to Girls' Generation's [debut song]," is gaining widespread attention on online community Bestiz. In the post, a netizen links G-Friend's MV teaser for "Glass Bead" and says, "People on Gaecheon Music (a section in Bestiz), YouTube, Facebook, here and there are saying that [G-Friend] is copying Girls' Generation's 'Into the New World' choreography and concept."
It seems that netizens find the pointing, twirling, and high-kicking parts of the choreography, along with G-Friend's white outfits, to be reminiscent of Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" MV.
Many netizens agreed that G-Friend's "Glass Bead" reminded them of Girls' Generation's debut song with comments saying, "Oh... the choreography and concept are really similar [to 'Into the New World']," "They're Glam's hoobaes.... They were successful in getting people's attention with this controversy, now if they show us their skills they'll be good.... If they don't have skills then they will be buried," "Wow, they really are similar. The song is profoundly similar and the dance is too; but [even so] the song seems good," "Wow, as you watch the teaser you gradually get the feeling that the song copied ['Into the New World']," and, "Whether you think they're similar or not... [the teaser] makes you think of ['Into the New World']."
For the most part, netizens don't seem to be criticizing G-Friend for the similarities and are simply pointing them out. Some believe that they need to wait for G-Friend to release the full MV before jumping to any conclusions.
What do you guys think? Does the teaser look similar to Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" so far?
