37-year-old man sentenced to five years in prison for raping his girlfriend for 'talking to her ex'

It was recently reported that a 37-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison for raping his 31-year-old girlfriend after finding out that she had been talking to her ex-boyfriend. The sentence also required the man to attend 40-hours of sexual violence treatment program.

According to the reports, the man had also filmed and taken pictures of his girlfriend while raping her in her Daegu residence. The department of justice stated, "Threatening the victim with a lethal weapon, raping her twice, and filming the process gave great psychological shock to the victim. The sentence was given with the defendant's clear criminal background and the fact that the victim had agreed to a settlement taken into account."

Meanwhile, the defendant was revealed to have met the victim at a nightclub and they have been dating for a month before the incident occurred. In August of 2014, the defendant was arrested for threatening the victim with a lethal weapon, raping her twice, and taking pictures and videos of the victim's body.
