On the December 8 broadcast of KBS's 'Hello' an 11-year-old girl named Seo Hee revealed that she currently attends not one, but twelve different hakwons--an insane number considering there's only seven days in a week!
Seo Hee explained how her scheduled worked, saying, "Every day of the week I go to hakwon. Although I rest on Sundays, I have to do homework everyday." She continued, "If I can't finish my homework by 12, then I sleep at 3 AM. I wake up at 7:50 AM and I go to school at 8:15 AM."
Seo Hee then rightly complained, "I'm so tired and exhausted that my body doesn't feel like it did before. I don't have an appetite either." She continued, "I asked my mom to reduce the number of hakwons [I attend] but my mom just yelled at me to go to hakwon; my dad said that I should quit all of the hakwons, but my mom didn't listen."
To perhaps justify taking Seo Hee to these hakwons, her mother then stated, "[Seo Hee] said she was hurt so we took her to the hospital to get her examined, but they said there was nothing wrong. The next day she was perfectly fine, but when I told her to go to hakwon, she said she didn't feel well; I think she's feigning illness."
I would pretend I was sick everyday too if I had to go to twelve different schools AFTER school. Jeez.
Seo Hee further revealed, "Because I have so many things scheduled I don't really have close friends at school." She admitted, "I'm not happy." She ended with listing off what she wished she could do instead, saying, "I want to talk a walk with my mom and I want to play with friends. I want to sleep a lot too."
Poor girl. Hopefully the mom will come to her senses after being judged hard on this show.
