The 'SMTOWN LIVE' series started in 2008, and the SM Entertainment artists have since been all over the world, starting from Seoul and going on to New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Singapore, and more. They set records everywhere they went, and now they've hit a total of 1,014,000 audience members after their performances in Tokyo on October 4th and 5th.

The concerts feature SM Entertainment artists such as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, and J-Min. They performed to a total of 120,000 fans over the past 2 days, and each team performed their Japanese hits as well as collaboration stages between groups.
The Tokyo performances ranked the most number of audiences in the history of Japanese performances, and over 600,000 fans attempted to buy tickets when they went on sale. The performance was aired live in 135 theaters across Japan in Tokyo, Hokkaido, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, and an additional 100,000 fans watched through the live stream.
