Rapper Swings gave an official statement via Facebook regarding the controversial viral video that received negative sentiment despite Swings' honest attempt at making a humorous parody for viewers to enjoy.
He stated, "Hello this is Swings. Last night I went to a pension located in Gapyong with a few of my friends and I would like to say a few words about the video that was taken at the swimming pool."
Swings continued, "We often like to film funny and entertaining videos and in addition to the 'Planet of the Apes' concept that we filmed in the last video, we decided to make a video with a film noir concept this time."
"Giri Boy was the main character and the video was of him taking revenge against the two antagonists, C Jamm and I. We uploaded a video parodying cliche scenes that you can see in noir films on Facebook and Instagram."
Swings explained that for the first couple hours, they were receiving the reactions that they had expected: lighthearted and entertained comments. However, as the video started spreading, the viewers saw the parody video as something much more malicious than the original intent.
He also revealed in his statement that he had never even heard of the terrorist group ISIS and that it was regrettable how people saw his innocent parody video in comparison to the ISIS execution scenes.
Swings apologetically added, "In the end, due to my ignorance about society, many misunderstood our intent and I do apologize for this. I'm sorry."

The rapper also disclosed the Instagram account of the friend who was holding the camera and filming at the time, revealing that there were more to the video that went viral than we were able to see. He also explained that the misunderstanding could have stemmed from the quality of the video and the lack of sound and the length of the video.
In the other videos, C Jamm is seen repeating the lines from the movie, "The Man From Nowhere," and that also was keeping in mind the concept of a noir film.
Swings ended his lengthy explanation by saying that he does not like to be hated because of a misunderstanding and said, "I was always someone who liked to receive love. And I try to give back the same to those who were willing to accept me. This is why I have been and will continue to upload entertaining videos in addition to my music releases."
