South Korea ranked #1 in the world for ramen intake and this news is receiving a lot of buzz.
According to a recent poll held by the World Instant Ramen Association, the average South Korean ate ramen 74.1 times over the past year. Meaning, that the average person residing in South Korea has eaten ramen once every five days. Coming in 2nd on the survey was Indonesia with the average Indonesian consuming ramen 60.3 times over the course of a year and in 3rd was Vietnam with the average Vietnamese consuming ramen 57.3 times over the course of a year.
According to the Harvard University research lab that conducted research on 10,000 South Korean women, those who consumed ramen more than 2 times in a week were more prone to have high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, and increased obesity by 68%.

Netizens who came across the results of the poll commented, "Korea is first place? I thought that Japan would be in the first place," and "It's shocking that Koreans are #1 in ramen intake."
