Singer-actor Seo In Guk, Lee Sung Jae, and Jo Yoon Hee are currently being considered to appear in the upcoming KBS 2TV drama 'King's Face'. A representative of the drama recently commented that they are in talks, but "nothing is confirmed."
The rep also added, "Currently, the producer of 'King's Face', KBS Media is waiting for the outcome of the accusations of plagiarism by Jupiter Film. We can only confirm their appearance and start producing the drama once the relevant judgment comes out."
Jupiter Film, a Korean movie production company, told the press that as they were planning the movie 'The Face Reader' on top of a novel as well as a drama version of the movie using the one-source-multiple-use strategy. The novel version of 'The Face Reader' has already been published, and they were in works of creating a 24-episode drama version of the same story.
It was also revealed that they were planning on co-producing the drama with KBS Media, but when the two companies didn't come to an agreement, KBS came out with 'King's Face'. According to Jupiter Film, 'King's Face' had included enough creative similarities to 'The Face Reader' that can be determined as plagiarism.
Meanwhile, KBS officially stated, "We will not idly watch a movie production company representative spread false information intentionally. We are planning on dealing with them sternly and under the law."
