Remember back when you were five, the days when you could get down and dirty in the mud outside without a care in the world? Remember how annoyed your parents would get having to clean you up? Well this summer, try attending South Korea's Boryeong Mud Festival--where you can literally roll around in the mud.
Bonus: it's actually good for you!
Take a look at this crowd.
Bam. This is what it looks like at the Boryeong Mud Festival--a very popular event that attracts millions of domestic visitors and tourists alike every year. It takes place during the summer in the town of Boryeong at the Daecheon Beach, where mud taken from the Boryeong mud flats is used for various activities. These include mud massages, mud-sliding, and of course--mud-wrestling!
Look at these folks going ham.
Started in 1998, the Boryeong Mud Festival was originally launched to introduce people to the mud itself and encourage the purchase of Boryeong mud cosmetics. Boryeong mud is said to be rich in minerals and very good for your skin. So don't worry about them germs and go ahead, rub that healthy mud all over.
Rub-a-dub-dub, mud in the tub.
Mud shower, what what!
This guy's super soaked.
These people are super psyched.
This guy is super not. Whatever, #yolo, right?
This year the Boryeong Mud Festival will be taking place from July 18 to July 27. Anyone who's going to be in South Korea during those dates should definitely check this event out for some wild, dirty fun.
