Move aside tiny buildings, a new building is here to reign over South Korea as the tallest building in the country.
The North East Asia Trade Tower (or NEAT) in Songdo, Incheon has 68 stories and stands at 305 meters (1000 feet). This means it has taken the tallest crown from the 'We've the Zenith' complex in Haeundae, Busan, which might have 80 stories, but is only 301 meters (987 feet) tall and held the tallest crown for only about two years.
However, just like that, it seems like NEAT will not have the tallest honor for much longer, either. Perhaps the life span for tallest building in South Korea is generally about 2 years as currently, Lotte is also working on its 'Lotte World Tower' in Jamsil, which is currently under construction and is already taller at 320 meters (1050 feet), but does not count as it isn't yet complete. But when it is done, it will blow away the previous record of tallest building. After construction is finished, it is expected to be 123 stories and a whopping 555 meters (1820 feet) tall by 2016.
Whew! Imagine that! The Lotte World Tower will earn itself a spot on the ten tallest building of the worlds list, so NEAT may be standing proud and erect at the moment, but will probably be sweat dropping in two years, preparing to join 'We've the Zenith' on the overthrown pile, but for now, just appreciate its majesty. Wow.
