During the '2008 MBC Drama Awards', both actors had been nominated for the top award, but most had bet on Kim Myung Min to win as he was someone who had been applauded for his acting, and Song Seung Hun was considered more of an actor who was popular for his good looks.
So when both of them were announced winners instead of just one, it left many questions raised about the result.
Regarding this past, Song Seung Hun said on 'Radio Star', "To be honest, when I heard word about a possible Daesang award before the ceremony, I thought, 'That's not right'. But it would have been a weird situation for me to announce that I'm turning down an award before it was even presented.
At the time, my drama did do very well, but my thoughts have not changed since then that I did not deserve to accept the award at the time. If it was deserved, it would have been okay for me to have won the award with somebody else, but I did not think I [deserved] it yet. I want to win it again someday when I can stand there proudly to accept it," opening up honestly about the sensitive issue.
