Joy-K's 10 Favorite K-Pop Fashionistas
With so many fashionable idols out there, it was difficult to choose a top ten. But, without further ado, here's my personal list:
Jia
There is something masculine about miss A Jia's fashion sense—it's her ability to pull off this look while maintaining a feminine image that's really cool to me. It's obvious that she's a real-life badass and her fashion sense definitely demonstrates that. Whether she's wearing an oversize tee, denim jacket, or a simple fresh pair of kicks, she always looks both fabulous and like someone that could kick your ass at the same time, which isn't easy to pull off.
Minhyuk
To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure whether CNBLUE Minhyuk's fashion sense is on point or whether it's his stature that makes him look good in anything he wears. Regardless, he always looks put together, which lands him a spot on my list. His simplistic, slightly preppy, but always masculine fashion is one of my favorites and always easy on the eyes.
Jessica
It's difficult to overlook Girls' Generation member Jessica when it comes to fashion. The "ice princess" has a cold city look to her fashion and she is one of the most consistently dressed idols out there. She sticks to a simplistic and chic style, and it works perfectly for her.
Hyunseung
He may not be the loudest member of B2ST, but Hyunseung is always a standout dresser on the red carpet and "airport runway." I'm not exactly sure how to describe his fashion sense, except that he definitely has the look of a Korean idol. He often wears bright colors and/or patterns, but knows the thin boundary between looking messy and looking like a fashionista.
Sohee
Everything about Sohee screams chic. Her mood always seems to match her outfits, which makes each outfit seem like a statement in itself. Sohee has a very innocent, youthful face--she contrasts this image with a very mature fashion sense, which works well for her. She, too, knows how to perfect all types of looks, while maintaining her carefree chic image.
Himchan
In the rush of new idol groups rocking the hip-hop street fashion, B.A.P's Himchan really stands out for me. Although I am not too sure how I feel about the different color J's on each foot, there is something to be said about someone who isn't afraid to try new things. He adds his own twist on the popular fashion trend, which sets him apart in my opinion.
Dara
Contrary to the views of many others, I think that Dara is the fashionista of 2NE1. There's something about such a petite frame rocking such bold statement pieces that's really appealing to me. In addition, I love that she experiments with her hair every promotion cycle—she's the one I always look forward to seeing most during 2NE1 comebacks.
Key
SHINee's Key trumps both male and female idols when it comes to his fashion sense. He always opts for different brands and concepts with each outfit, which really shows off his creativity when it comes to style. Whether he's rocking a simplistic masculine look or a loud hip-hop look, no one can deny that he looks good doing it.
Sooyoung
I know I already chose a Girls' Generation member... But Sooyoung really deserves to be on this list. Like fellow member, Jessica, her fashion sense is very simplistic. What sets Sooyoung apart is that she rocks different concepts as well, ranging from a spring-dress-wearing girly girl or the school girl look to the New York city girl look. There's always something about her outfits that I love.
G-Dragon
Big Bang's G-Dragon is an OG fashionista--he has caught the eyes of designers around the world with his creative fashion sense. He is always experimenting with new looks and brands, and even if every look (there's something about G-Dragon in shorts that I personally don't like) doesn't work, it's his ability to make something unusual usual that makes him a fashion leader. He can even wear women's pieces and pull them off, 'nuff said.
