VIXX fans speak out against Jellyfish Entertainment to demand better treatment and communication + organize DVD boycott

VIXX

A significant portion of VIXX's fans have come together to express their frustration and anger at the boys' management agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, even starting a petition and organizing a boycott of the group's upcoming DVD.

It seems the latest event that triggered the fans to resort to such actions came from an article piece that a reporter previously wrote, discussing his treatment by the employees of Jellyfish Entertainment at a photo and interview session of VIXX. The reporter had detailed his or her account of the rudeness of the employees. Becoming aware of the post, fans seem to have become concerned that the rudeness of the employees not only affects fans, but can reflect badly on the boys of VIXX themselves. With this final straw, they set out to make themselves heard.

The fans state, "VIXX's agency Jellyfish ask for unnecessary personal information, fan managers speak abusively towards fans, show poor hosting of the group's showcase and fan club inauguration, and neglect the fan cafe and do not communicate with fans."

"Although we have consistently requested for such matters to be corrected, the agency continues to allow them to occur and is just trying to wrap up this situation by putting forth a DVD sale and fan signing event posting... We cannot see this in any way other than that Jellyfish does not recognize fans as VIXX's partner and is trying to use VIXX to silence the matter."

Many Starlights, VIXX's fans, have put out the position, "If Jellyfish does not issue an apology and correct the attitude of their employees, and if the agency does not provide a solution that will smooth things out and better manage the official fan cafe, then the DVD boycott with continue."

In addition to posting their demands, the fans have also started a petition to further voice their opinion, asking for the agency to quickly resolve the matter on Daum's petition site 'Agora' (you can see it here). Their goal is to collect 10,000 signatures by February 7, but they are already nearing the 7,000 mark at the time of writing.

To also explain to international fans about their position, the Korean fans have also written out in English regarding what they hope to achieve with all this, which you can read here or below.

When contacted about all this, a Jellyfish Entertainment rep told 'Sports Seoul', "I know about the various instances that have happened before, but this is the first time I've heard of the DVD boycott... Currently, the VIXX members and the agency CEO are currently in France to attend MIDEM, so once they return we will try to assess the situation and figure out how to respond."
