The wilderness reality program 'Laws of the Jungle' recently found itself in some hot water after viewers noticed one of the cast members, Oh Jong Hyuk, holding a cigarette in a recent broadcast.
As viewers might know, the show revolves around a 'survival' concept, so seeing a cigarette in the middle of the wilderness was somewhat of a non sequitur. Also, the scene in question showed the members trying to build a fire -- making the presence of a cigarette even more glaring.

After viewers spotted the anachronism, SBS came forward with an official statement. "There was an accident in the 8/2 broadcast where one of the cast members was shown holding a cigarette," the producers posted on the show's homepage. "This is a clear editing mistake and we apologize to the viewers. We will make sure that this kind of accident does not occur again."
"The scene showing the cast members building a fire was shot using no method other than a Firesteel, in keeping with the purpose of the program," they explained. "We apologize again for creating a misunderstanding due to an editing error."
