Kikwang revealed that his father apologized for his son's short stature.
On the August 9 installment of KBS 2TV's 'Full House', Kikwang revealed a text message conversation he had with his father. He asked his father, "What trait are you sorry for passing onto me?", and Kikwang's father answered, "I'm sorry you didn't grow tall because I wasn't able to protect your health."

Kikwang was touched by the answer, and he said, "I think my father is sorry because he believes I didn't grow from the irregular sleep schedule I had when I was a trainee."
When MC Lee Kyung Kyu joked, "Didn't the other members all have trainee periods, too?", Kikwang answered wittily, "I had a longer training period," drawing laughter from the panel.
