Previously, some listeners pointed out that the song sounds similar to the late Kim Kwang Suk's "The Place Wind Blows", and that his chorus sounds similar to Norwegian band A-Ha's "Take On Me". However, now there is another song that it can be compared to - Acoustic Rain's "Love Is Canon". Unlike the other songs, listeners pointed out that the two songs are exactly the same instead of having just similarities. "Love Is Canon" was released back in March 2012, while Roy Kim's song was released in 2013.

With this controversy rising up, angry listeners have requested that the radio program in which Roy Kim DJs for play "Love Is Canon" as a request song if he's so confident that he didn't plagiarize.
On the controversy, his label said, "We're confirming with Roy Kim himself and the co-composer Bae Young Kyung. We won't have a statement today, but we'll make an official one tomorrow." Their statement suddenly differs from how the song was being previously promoted as the sole work of Roy Kim.
