The December 23rd broadcast of SBS' 'K-Pop Star 2' showed various contestants that didn't gain much attention during their first auditions, but surprised the judges in their subsequent ranking auditions.

Contestant Lee Mi Rim who took the first place in the performance group had to prepare choreography and a song in just two days after suddenly getting placed in the performance group. Despite having little time to prepare, she got a praise from J.Y. Park who commented, "I feel refreshed for the first time. Even though it was sloppy, you both sing and dance like a singer. You're a contestant with guts."



Contestant Lee Jin Woo took first place in the vocal group and BoA praised her by saying, "You came back as a totally different person. It was transformation similar to that of 'Usual Suspects'."



Contestant Kim Dong Ohk also took the judges by surprise. During the behind interview, J.Y. Park revealed, "I thought Choi Ye Geun was the best, but Kim Dong Ohk appeared. The best."



In addition, contestant Kim Do Yeon was told to work on her high notes by BoA before the ranking audition. After successfully performing "All the Man that I Need" with the pointers in mind, she received praise from J.Y. Park who stated, "The two negative things that I pointed out during the first round totally disappeared."



After seeing the recent auditions, the viewers commented, "It's getting more and more interesting", "I can definitely see them leveling up", and "K-Pop Star is really the best."
