Psy sent a personal request to Nongshim, offering to become the company's new spokesperson for its�Shin Ramen 'black cup'�line of noodles.
On the 10th, Nongshim revealed a video sent in by Psy, who tried to convince the company to make him the new spokesperson.�The video was not a regular, high quality commercial, but an informal self-camera of Psy eating his favorite brand of noodles.
He stated, "I've only been eating Shin Ramen since the day it came out. People in my town used to say, 'That guy eats Shin Ramen [really well]'." Psy continued, "I believe that there is no other celebrity who eats ramen as tastily as I do. So I decided, even though I'm very busy, [to show the advertisers]."
Psy really sold himself, revealing his own particular way of eating Shin Ramen, sharing tips, and even singing a jingle for the brand.
His efforts brought a positive response from Nongshim, who signed him up to become the model for Shin Ramen Black Cup. Psy is reported to have been offered to endorse Nongshim's shrimp cracker line this past September, but apparently, the singer had plans to promote the brand's most well-known product, ramen.
