Girl group A Pink's Yookyung (18) admitted that her 'rich girl' image is more than burdensome.

It was previously revealed that Yookyung is the daughter of a wealthy businessman currently worth around $85 million USD.

During her interview with StarNews on May 29th, the singer cautiously opened up about being dubbed 'rich girl' saying, "It's so burdensome. I never even told anyone, so I was shocked that my name came up on portal site search engines."

"I saw the articles and hurriedly called the office, and it turned out that my managers had no idea as well," she explained.

Yookyung's father is the head of leading steel company, DSR Corporation. The company's sales total at the end of 2010 were estimated to be over $125 million, and Yookyung herself is known to hold a few shares of company stock. Though she evoked envy, the singer also had to put up with the controversial rumors that suggested she became a celebrity thanks to her father's elite status.

"The articles introduced my family, the company, stocks, and more," she said. "The only thing I myself know about my dad's company is the name. I was so upset, because my dad's name and my family members would come up if you searched my name online."

"To be honest, celebrities never hear anything positive when things like that become an issue from the very beginning," she added. "The negative remarks online further multiplied, and I'm upset that people will only correlate me with wealth rather than as an artist."

Hong Yookyung is known to have had a deep love for dance ever since she was a young girl. While she was studying abroad, Yookyung was a part of the cheerleading squad at her school, and she became a member of A Pink while attending a dance academy.

"On one hand, I'm glad this is helping with A Pink's publicity, but it's true that I'm also extremely burdened," she said. "I hope that you will see me as more than just a 'rich girl'."
