Immersed in a controversy for a 'hit and run' incident back in June, Kwon Sang Woo has made an official apology at the production conference for SBS's "Dae Mul" on September 29th. At that time, Kwon Sang Woo first apologized to his Japanese fans, causing the scandal to worsen amongst his Korean fans. Soon after, he immediately began filming for "Dae Mul" without taking any time for reflection. Moments after climbing the stage, Kwon Sang Woo stated, "I'd first like to apologize for not being able to set a better example to my juniors and for causing a disturbance through my accident." He then concluded by bowing deeply, demonstrating his sincere regret. In June, Kwon Sang Woo hit a police car and ran from the scene, making this his first official statement regarding the issue. Netizens were not quick to accept the apology, however, commenting, "What the citizens are requesting is not an apology but for the law to take responsibility," "If it was anyone else, they'd be jailed for this hit-and-run accident," "Kwon Sang Woo needs to face the law. How dare he try to push the entire controversy onto his manager and appear with a clean face as if he's done nothing wrong?" and "A true apology is taking responsibility for your actions."
