Note: The following article describes public opinion based on those who actually chose to voice them - i.e. netizens. Though the author concedes that this doesn't represent how all Koreans think; however, public opinion on the Internet has been proven to be quite reliable, so she's going to write this article anyway. We all know that Korea has some pretty unrealistic standards of beauty, especially in the weight category. From pointing out Sohee's supposedly round belly to criticizing Tiffany's weight, Korean netizens have hawk-like eyes that spot any imperfections (though most of them are probably really fugly, or fat, or both, themselves). However, every now and then, netizens say that someone is "too skinny" and make me think that there's hope for Korean girls like me after all. Both Moon Geun Young and Jung Ryu Won have come under the radar as skeletal stars, but one of the latest to join this rank is Kim Min Hee. She may be gorgeous, but she's always been stick-thin. But while most people complimented her for a "slim figure", comments left by netizens on one of her recent photoshoots has shed light on the fact that Ms. Kim is a walking mannequin. The article in question was actually labeled as "Kim Min Hee Shows off her great legs in her new Tokyo photoshoot". While there were some deluded netizens who said things like "Though I agree she's skinny, she looks skinny in a beautiful way" and "I'm so jealous of her legs", a good number of commentors said things along the lines of "Do boys really consider legs like these to be attractive? I find them revolting", "Since when did our country consider wooden chopsticks to be beautiful?" and my personal favorite, "Are those legs? No matter how I look at them, they look like arms to me". FINALLY. Maybe people are starting to see that looking malnourished isn't a good thing. Though it's true that slender women are preferred pretty much anywhere, Asians in general seem to put more emphasis on weight. It could be because we have smaller frames, but I still think it's unrealistic. Check out the pictures for yourselves. Do you think Kim Min Hee's chopsticks legs are "great"?
