Former superstar actor Yoo Ji-tae won a directors award at the 2008 Japan Short Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan on June 18th. His short film, "Out of my Intention" won a "Special Honorable Mention" Award. This is his second award for Yoo Ji-tae as a director in Japan. In 2005, he won the Fuji Film for excellence award for his film, "How Does the Blind Dream''. Yoo Ji-tae is best known for his role as madman Lee Woo-jin in the 2003 cult classic Old Boy, which won the grand prize award at the Cannes Film Festival. Yoo Ji-tae hopes that the Korean market will increase their interest in short films as well. Maybe because like his women, he can't focus too long on any one pussy project. Anyhow, with his recent failings on the big screen in "Traces of Love" and "Hwang Jini," I can see why he turned to directing. A Far cry from when he was on top, sleeping with his sister and wanting to kill Dae-su like in Old Boy.
