BBC issued an apology to KBS for a serious mistake in the 'Burning Sun' documentary.
On May 22, BBC officially apologized and made corrections to its 'Burning Sun' documentary after finding errors concerning Korean broadcast network KBS. According to an official statement by KBS, BBC admitted to the errors and issued a formal apology and has removed the problematic content from the documentary as well as revealing the corrections publicly on their platforms.
The BBC reportedly said, "We sincerely apologize to KBS. This incident was an error caused by an unintended misunderstanding." KBS also stated, "We want to make it clear this error was the BBC's mistake, not that of the interviewed journalist."
As previously reported, KBS released a statement through lawyers denying the accusations that the network pressured victims of Jung Joon Young's illegal sex tapes into withdrawing their complaints against him. KBS' lawyers stated, "The journalist who appeared in the BBC documentary 'Burning Sun' claimed KBS lawyers contacted and pressured Jung Joon Young's victims. These claims are false and unfounded. When the victims say they were afraid after a lawyer advised they might face legal consequences if their evidence was insufficient after BBC narrates that KBS' lawyers contacted the victims, we would like to make it clear the lawyers were the victim's representatives."

That was a hugely inflammatory mistake to make. I hope the people with pitchforks about to go after KBS see BBC's apology/correction.
