Actor and former MBLAQ member Lee Joon shared his experience of being a victim of school violence.
On April 27 KST, Lee Joon appeared on MBC's 'Point of Omniscient Interference' with his childhood friend, actor Guk Ji Yong, and his manager.
During the episode, the three sit together for a meal when Lee Joon explains that he wants to be able to help the disadvantaged, particularly those who suffer from school violence. The reason for this was that he was also bullied excessively in school.
"Honestly, I was beaten up through college," he revealed.
Guk Ji Yong recalled the bullying, saying, "The bullying was so severe that his mother cried."
"I couldn't even walk properly. I couldn't even go home," Lee Joon added, saying that the back of his school uniform pants had been so bloodied that they wouldn't come off unless he cut them off with scissors. Such injury made it especially difficult for him as a dance student who needed to be able to do stretching warm-ups, so he had to take a break from his studies.
"But what makes me awesome," he continued with a laugh, "is that I eliminated all violence toward juniors under me. If seniors told me to hit them, I shouted and only pretended that I did it."
He concluded his story by sharing a refreshing memory from a wedding he went to as an adult, where he saw some of the people who previously bullied him in school. Once they saw him, they all ran away.
"He had a sense of justice even when he was young," Guk Ji Yong told Lee Joon's manager.
