ASTRO member/actor Cha Eun Woo appeared as a guest on the latest installment of the 1theK YouTube series, 'IDDP'.
Here, Cha Eun Woo spent time reading over his own Namu Wiki page, fact-checking all of the information that the page provided on him.
When he moved on to miscellaneous facts about him, the singer read, "Thanks to his perfect visuals, he was famous in the area he grew up in since his middle school days. On top of his good looks, he was student body president, captain of the soccer team and the basketball team, and maintained stellar grades, his reputation spread to neighboring schools and even to parents in the area." Cha Eun Woo, who could not contain his embarrassment, also shared, "I remember telling my mother once, 'Mom, I can't find one thing I'm really good at, but I'm not that bad at anything, which stresses me out'. And she told me in return, 'It's best to always try to be good at everything you are doing.'"
Next, another miscellaneous fact about him read, "His life motto is: 'Happiness comes to those who are thankful for what they already have'." Hearing this, the PD jokingly asked Cha Eun Woo, "To you, what is it that you already have?", making the singer laugh.
Here, Cha Eun Woo also confirmed the famous rumors that his mother raised him as a strict parent. The well-known "miscellaneous fact" about him read, "Growing up, [Cha Eun Woo] wanted to be complimented by his parents for his achievements, but because his mother was strict with him, he had at times felt disheartened. However, seeing that her son was exceptionally handsome, his mother worried that he would grow up spoiled and held back from complimenting him."
Reflecting on this, Cha Eun Woo revealed, "She always helped me keep my feet on the ground so that I would not grow overconfident. When I have a beer with my mother these days, she tells me, 'You know, it was really hard for me back then' (Laughter)."
However, seeing that her son was exceptionally handsome, his mother worried that he would grow up spoiled and held back from complimenting him."
I get where his mother was coming from, I really do, but I don't think that's the right way to go about it. Luckily for her, (from what we know) Eun Woo turned out amazing, but there was always a possibility that he could grow up to think that he wasn't good enough for the world. I guess it just depends on the kind of kid you are.
