The 20 finalists of the upcoming global audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy' are ready to embark on a mission to achieve their dreams.

The 20 girls are now invited to compete for the coveted spot to become part of the next global girl group. The latest teaser has given a brief look into the drama, hardships, and challenges the girls will have to face.

Meanwhile, 'The Debut: Dream Academy' will premiere on September 1 at 11 AM EST / 8 AM PDT on YouTube and ABEMA TV.

20 people were selected out of 120,000 total applicants. I'm not sure how successful it will be but, for the sake of those who made it, I hope it is. Chairman Bang also said, "In order for k-pop to become a truly global mainstream, it needs to get rid of the "K" and just become pop." Well, I just hope it doesn't become too westernized and remains unique. And true k-pop needs to keep the "K"!
