IVE is making significant waves as a group, and it's so hard to believe it's only been five months since their debut! They've already had two back-to-back smash hits and sold a cumulative total of over 800,000 copies between their single albums "ELEVEN" and "LOVE DIVE."
The truly amazing component I want to discuss is the quality of IVE's b-side tracks on these albums, in specific, "ROYAL."
"ROYAL" is a pop-rap infused track about showing the best sides of yourself to someone you like/love, including the "diamonds and the gold." The track is perfectly balanced between light vocals (Wonyoung and Leeso), strong vocal points (Liz and Yujin), and exemplary rap verses (Rei and Gaul). In the verses, you kind of get a little bit of an IZ*ONE-feel, then you switch to the pre-chorus, which is reminiscent of R&B, the first part of the chorus is hip-hop style and then BOOM, the second half of the chorus explodes into a pop vocal showcase.
The bridge of the song is beautifully assisted by Liz and Yujin. From start to finish, this track is bound to keep your attention. This points to how carefully crafted IVE's music is and how much care is put into it. No wonder they have become so successful. I can't wait for what's next!
good for them and hope they keep going....
