On the July 16 broadcast of MBC's 'I Live Alone', SHINee's Key headed off on a summer vacation with his former army comrades!
On this day, Key introduced viewers to his close comrades from his time as a part of the ROK army's music corps. It was revealed that Key spent much of his time in the music corps as the troop's leader, and Key's fellow comrades described him as "a leader who always followed the rules". Key also remarked, "I bet they got tired of me because I was too rigid."
Once the boys arrived at their vacation home, Key decided to give his former comrades a hair cut once again! Key, who also served as a military barber, said, "I just applied for it because I was like, 'Where else am I going to have a chance to do something like this?'." Key even confessed that he was a "popular" barber among the soldiers at the time, because even military haircuts have "different styles". He recalled, "I cut their hairs the way they asked me to. Even with such little hair, each person has a look they prefer."
After enjoying some outdoor activities, Key also took up the apron to cook dinner for his comrades. He whipped up a special ramen recipe using soft tofu, as well as a Korean summer staple, samgye-tang (ginseng chicken soup).
Later on, Key shared during his interview, "At times, even when I am with the SHINee members, there is still a hint of tenseness. But when I went to the army, I met people who did not expect anything from me, who did not want to see a certain image from me, and so around these guys, I can completely unravel. They are people who are just wholly on my side."
