On May 3, singer/actor Park Yoochun was seen being led by police with his hands restrained as the investigation team prepared to forward his case to prosecution.
Yoochun emerged outside the Southern Suwon Regional Police Station at approximately 9:58 AM KST on this day, looking much more haggard compared to his image before his arrest. Standing in front of press, Yoochun stated, "I'm sorry to so many people for lying. I am reflecting deeply. I will receive punishment where it is due, and live while reflecting. Once again, I sincerely apologize."
The singer/actor refrained from answering press questions which asked, "Did you have a change of heart after your arrest?", "What do you think about the fact that your statement and Hwang Hana's statement contain contradictions?", and more.
Back on April 29, approximately 3 days after police obtained his official arrest warrant, Yoochun confessed to administering the illegal drug methamphetamine a total of 7 times, including 5 times with his ex-fiancée Hwang Hana.
Meanwhile, Yoochun is scheduled to receive additional questioning from prosecution regarding his contradicting statement with Hwang Hana. Prosecution seeks to indict Yoochun some time in mid-May.
He looks wrecked, but given that he's been held in jail and had long stints of questioning, it's not surprising. I'm glad he's apologized, more so for his family than anyone else, as they will still be on the outside facing the backlash and scrutiny from his actions and his words. I hope he sincerely means it when he says he will take his punishment fully, and I hope that he will get some decent therapy to deal with the issues that are clearly plaguing him. However, he needs to remember that an apology is just that, simple words strung together. Actions speak louder than words, so he needs to go quietly and take his punishment while his family and loved ones recover from this blow. Hopefully they will bring his terrible ex in as well, it's absolutely disgusting to me that they have piles of evidence against her, yet she walks free due to her family's influence.
