A toilet at a South Korean university is rewarding students for 'pooping.'
Recently, 'Insider' reported that professors at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology have designed a special toilet that converts methane from feces into an energy source. It has been recorded that the toilet powers the university building's maintenance facilities such as the gas stove, boilers, and electricity generators.
Studies have revealed that an average person's poop per day can power an automobile for three quarters of a mile.
By using the toilet, student can earn up to 10 units of digital currency called Ggool, which can be used on campus to buy objects such books and food items like bananas and instant cup noodles, according to Reuters.
A postgraduate student shared that they now see "poop as a 'treasure' because of the new toilet."
