The pictures show North Korea's 27-year-old Hong Un-jong and 17-year-old Lee Eun-ju during their practice for the Olympics, posing happily together with bright grins on their faces, taking selfies, glad-handing, and just creating a feel-good atmosphere with their positive attitudes.
It's great to see that the girls got along swell despite their ten-year age gap and more importantly, their starkly contrasting lifestyles.

Lee Eun-ju was selected to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics after Lee Go-im, who took first place to be the national representative, suffered an arm injury. Hong has won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
With my parents born in what is now called North Korea, this Olympic selfie gives me hope of a future reunification.
