Unverified posts are spreading across online communities alleging that former BIGBANG member Seungri is connected to Cambodia’s so-called “Prince Compound.” The speculation picked up after a clip resurfaced showing Seungri speaking on a stage in front of a backdrop bearing the words ‘Prince Brewing’ and a mark resembling the Prince Holdings Group logo.
The video—reportedly filmed last year—has recirculated alongside reports of increased kidnapping and confinement cases involving Koreans in Cambodia. Because Prince Holdings Group has been mentioned in some foreign media as one of the entities associated—without formal adjudication—with the crime-ridden district nicknamed the “Prince Compound,” some users inferred that Seungri might be involved if he appeared at a related event. As of now, there is no verified evidence establishing a direct relationship between Seungri and Prince Holdings Group.
Local Cambodian outlets and Prince Holdings Group’s official channels show no confirmation that the event in question was organized with Seungri. While ‘Prince Brewing’ is known as a brand under the conglomerate umbrella, it commonly operates as a brewery/pub brand; linking any appearance near that branding to organized criminal activity remains speculative.
Separately, Cambodia has seen recurring incidents in which foreign nationals, including Koreans, are lured by fraudulent job postings, then detained, assaulted, or forced to work in cyber-crime operations. Korean media have reported that many victims were held in areas colloquially called the “Mango Compound” and the “Prince Compound,” some disguised as legitimate development zones with foreign capital. Authorities have designated these areas as high-risk and issued travel advisories to overseas Koreans.
At this stage, the claims tying Seungri to the “Prince Compound” are unconfirmed, and readers should treat the circulating posts as allegations pending substantiated information.
