Mnet’s music program ‘M! Countdown’ did not broadcast its 909th episode on the afternoon of October 9, due to the Chuseok holiday.
Previously, ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han Bin had served as the 21st MC from September 2023. Following him, Sohee of RIIZE and Jaehyun of BOYNEXTDOOR were appointed as the 22nd MCs in January of last year. Sohee stepped down from her MC role on February 27 to focus on RIIZE’s activities. Since the March 6 broadcast (episode 878), Sung Han Bin and Jaehyun co-hosted the show as a two-member MC team, before stepping down after the October 3 episode.
The next MC for ‘M! Countdown’ has not yet been announced. On the October 2 broadcast, KickFlip members Kyehoon, Minje, and Keiju appeared as special MCs.
‘M! Countdown’ is a global K-pop chart show where weekly rankings are determined by digital music, album sales, and social media metrics. Fans vote for the No.1 spot each week through the official ‘M! Countdown’ website, and pre-votes contribute to chart rankings.
In the most recent episode (908), aespa and KickFlip were nominated for the top spot, with aespa’s “Rich Man” ultimately claiming No.1.
