
tvN’s upcoming Saturday and Sunday drama 'Typhoon Boss' (written by Jang Hyun, directed by Lee Na Jung) unveiled its first script reading on the 21st. The event brought together a star-studded cast including Lee Junho, Kim Min Ha, Kim Min Suk, Kwon Han Sol, Lee Chang Hoon, and Kim Jae Hwa.
'Typhoon Boss' is a human office drama that follows rookie executive Kang Tae Poong (played by Lee Junho) as he strives to revive a struggling trading company left with no staff, no funds, and nothing to sell after the IMF crisis.
The script reading highlighted the actors’ chemistry and full immersion in their roles, instantly transporting attendees back to the reality of 1997.
Lee Junho plays Kang Tae Poong, a young “Orange Tribe” graduate who matures into a resilient office worker during the IMF turmoil. His confident gaze and firm delivery left a strong impression, capturing the shifting emotions of his character with detailed expression from spirited ambition to serious determination.
Kim Min Ha portrays Oh Mi Seon, the eldest daughter of the K family and an employee at Tae Poong Trading. Aspiring to become a top executive, her performance demonstrated impressive acting skills, perfectly recreating the Seoul dialect of the era.
Kim Min Suk takes on the role of Wang Nam Mo, Tae Poong’s close friend and fellow “Orange Tribe” member. His playful charm adds humor and romantic tension to the story, enriching the youthful narrative.
The supporting cast includes Lee Chang Hoon as Sales Manager Go Ma Jin, Kim Jae Hwa as General Affairs Deputy Manager Cha Seon Taek, Kim Song Il as Executive Director Gu Myeong Gwan, and Lee Sang Jin as Logistics Assistant Manager Baesong Jung, all contributing to a dynamic ensemble performance.
Lee Junho expressed his excitement about working with the team, saying, “I am most looking forward to shooting with the senior members of Tae Poong Trading. Their humorous sides will bring great enjoyment to viewers.”
Veteran actors Sung Dong Il and Kim Ji Young appear as Tae Poong’s parents, Kang Jin Young and Jeong Jeong Mi. They portray the joys and sorrows of a generation that experienced both glory and downfall.
