Singer Jeon So Mi has demonstrated her global impact with her latest comeback.
On August 11, Jeon So Mi released her second EP “Chaotic & Confused,” along with the title track “CLOSER” and its music video, quickly making her presence felt on international charts.
Immediately after its release, “Chaotic & Confused” debuted at No. 3 on the iTunes Top K-Pop Albums chart, No. 4 on Apple Music’s Top Albums chart in Korea, and No. 5 on Apple Music’s Top Albums K-Pop chart — signaling a strong start. The title track “CLOSER” also entered YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Music Videos chart at No. 4 and ranked No. 7 in Korea, drawing enthusiastic attention from K-pop fans.
In China, the music video reached No. 13 on the Korea chart of QQ Music, the country’s largest music platform, while the song itself climbed to No. 10 on QQ Music’s trending chart.
“CLOSER” samples Sean Kingston’s hit “Beautiful Girl” and reimagines it in a house style featuring stutter effects. The accompanying music video visually embodies the “chaos and confusion” suggested by the EP’s title. It depicts the inner self constantly breaking apart and coming back together, paired with Jeon So Mi’s refined acting and performance skills, resulting in a music video that plays like a work of art.
Jeon So Mi will continue promotions for “CLOSER,” the title track of her second EP, in the coming weeks.
