Yugyeom of GOT7 has confirmed his upcoming military enlistment date.
On August 23, 2025 KST, his label AOMG released an official statement through social media, saying: "First, we would like to sincerely thank all the fans who continue to love and support our artist Yugyeom. We are providing guidance regarding his military enlistment."
The agency further revealed that "Yugyeom has recently received final confirmation of his acceptance as a ‘specialized military recruit’ from the Military Manpower Administration."
According to AOMG, Yugyeom will enter training on September 29, 2025 KST. After completing his basic training, he will serve in the army band unit.
The company stressed that neither the enlistment schedule nor the location will be disclosed: "Since the entrance ceremony will be attended by many soldiers and their families, we have decided not to reveal the time and venue to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting, and no separate event will be held on the day of his enlistment."
They added: "We ask for your continued love and support for Yugyeom as he faithfully completes his service. AOMG will also stand by him and provide full support throughout his enlistment."
Debuting as a member of GOT7, Yugyeom has remained active as both a group member and solo artist. Ahead of his enlistment, he also shared a handwritten letter to fans, expressing his gratitude and affection.
In his letter, addressed “To. Ahgase♡”, he wrote:
"To our Ahgase, who has been with me for 12 years, I first wanted to tell you that I will enter the army carefully and in good health to serve our country well.
I promise to come back safely without getting hurt, so please take care of yourselves, eat well, and stay healthy too.
Whenever you see the moon—whether it’s a full moon, a crescent, or a half-moon—please think of me.
And if you miss me, listen to my songs and remember me.
I’ll also look at the same moon, thinking of all of you, and I’ll work hard while I’m away."
