Actor Ryu Jun Yeol has officially signed an exclusive contract with United Artists Agency (UAA), the management company announced on June 25. He departs from his previous agency, C-JeS Studios, to join a new roster of top-tier actors including Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong.
“Ryu Jun Yeol has become the newest member of UAA,” the agency stated. “He is a uniquely talented actor with exceptional acting skills and a distinct presence. We will fully support him so that he can further showcase his capabilities and soar to even greater heights.”
Ryu made a striking debut in the 2015 film 'Socialphobia,' quickly gaining attention for his strong screen presence. He became a household name through his breakout role in tvN’s Reply 1988, where his nuanced and emotionally rich performance received wide acclaim.
Since then, Ryu has shown remarkable versatility across various genres. In 2017, he starred in 'The King' and the critically and commercially successful 'A Taxi Driver,' which drew over 12.1 million viewers. His filmography also includes major roles in 'Believer,' 'Money,' 'The Battle: Roar to Victory,' and 'The Night Owl.'
His acting prowess has earned him numerous accolades, including Best New Actor at the '53rd Baeksang Arts Awards' in 2017. More recently, he won Best Actor in Film at the '59th Baeksang Arts Awards' in 2023 for his performance in 'The Night Owl.'
Ryu continues to impress with his dynamic roles. He most recently portrayed the fanatical pastor Seong Min Chan in the Netflix series 'Revelations,' directed by Yeon Sang Ho, receiving praise for his intense and gripping performance. He is currently preparing for his next Netflix project, 'The Rat,' where he will star alongside veteran actor Seol Kyung Gu, promising another powerful collaboration.
