Actor Kim Nam Gil announced the second 'Together on the Road' campaign, which supports young artists preparing for independence. Rather than offering one-time donations, Kim Nam Gil is stepping up to provide sustainable support for these youths.
On March 25, the cultural arts NGO Gilstory announced, "We are launching the second round of our support campaign, 'Together on the Road' (Hamkke Na Gil), for aspiring artists from youth preparing for independence. Applications will be open until April 9."
'Together on the Road' is a campaign designed to give young artists, who face difficulties in showcasing their artistic talents, the opportunity to create. The first project was successfully held last year.
This year, the program has expanded. The 2025 second round will select 20 creators in the cultural and arts field and provide each with a grant of 3 million KRW (~2,050 USD).
The support extends beyond financial aid. Selected artists will have the opportunity to network with experts in their fields and receive mentorship throughout their creative process.
The completed works will be showcased at an exhibition at the end of the year. This year’s theme is "Here I Am," aiming to help participants gain practical experience and turn their creative pursuits into sustainable careers.
Kim Nam Gil, who leads the initiative, shared his sentiments and said, "Seeing the first cohort of 'Together on the Road' artists complete their creative works, participate in the exhibition, and even perform at a concert reaffirmed their potential for growth."
He added, "I hope young artists preparing for independence can find emotional fulfillment through their creative activities. Please send them your support."
Meanwhile, the '2025 Together on the Road' program is open to young independent artists aged 20 to 34. Further details can be found on the Gilstory website.
