YG Entertainment's IP business subsidiary YG PLUS is preparing to launch its own K-pop merchandise shopping mall, Buffz!.
According to industry insiders on January 10 KST, the online and mobile versions of Buffz are currently in their beta stages, with the official app launch coming up soon. As a K-Pop merchandise shopping mall, Buffz plans on stocking goods such as albums, official merchandise, fashion accessories, stationary, and various other fan items. Currently, the beta version platform features the merchandise of YG Entertainment artists such as AKMU, BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, and TREASURE, as well as photo card decoration items.
In fact, since 2023, the sale of merchandise and other products made up the 2nd largest proportion of YG PLUS's overall annual sales after music services. Most recently, in the third quarter of 2024, YG PLUS reported sales of 48.4 billion KRW (33 million USD) from the sale of merchandise and other products.
In addition to stocking albums, official merchandise, and conventional fan goods, Buffz will be a place where various sellers and distributors can establish their own stores.
When asked to comment on the official launch of Buffz, YG PLUS stated, "Buffz is still in its preparation stages, so we cannot disclose any details at this time."
