ONEUS explains decision to re-record their past title tracks.
On January 14th KST, boy group ONEUS (Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion) held a roundtable interview at a café in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of their special album ‘Dear.M.’ During the event, the group revealed their reasons for re-recording their previous title tracks.
Keonhee explained, “Our fans have been eagerly waiting to hear us perform our past title tracks as the current lineup. After a member left the group, we felt it was important to re-record these songs that we cherish and love. These are incredible tracks, but we noticed some fans feeling conflicted about fully embracing them due to past events. We wanted to present these songs in a way that everyone could enjoy them without hesitation, making them a gift for our fans.”
This decision follows the departure of former member Ravn in October 2022, who faced allegations of infidelity and personal misconduct. At the time, RBW, the group’s agency, stated, “Ravn expressed his intention to voluntarily leave the group due to the damage his issues have caused to the members and fans. After careful discussions, we decided to respect his decision.”
Reflecting on the re-recording process, Leedo shared, “When we first recorded these songs, we mainly focused on memorizing the lyrics. Now, we can approach the tracks with deeper emotions and deliver the lyrics with a natural flow. Our vocal abilities and emotional depth have improved over the years, so fans will notice subtle yet significant differences between the original and new versions.”
ONEUS’s special album ‘Dear.M’—featuring the re-recorded versions of their past title tracks—will be released on January 14th at 6 PM via various online music platforms.
