NMIXX becomes the first K-pop girl group featured on NPR Music’s main channel with ‘Tiny Desk Korea’.
NMIXX has made history as the first K-pop girl group to have their ‘Tiny Desk Korea’ performance uploaded to the official NPR Music YouTube channel. The video, originally released in September 2024, showcased the group’s vocal prowess, featuring members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, BAE, Jiwoo, and Kyujin.
‘Tiny Desk Korea’ is the localized version of NPR’s globally renowned ‘Tiny Desk Concert’, a series of intimate live performances. The Korean edition retains the charm of live, raw performances, with no post-production mixing or sound effects added. NMIXX’s live session highlighted their exceptional harmonies and vocal precision, earning widespread acclaim from both domestic and international fans.
On January 6th KST, NPR Music uploaded the performance to its main channel, marking a significant milestone for NMIXX and K-pop. Fans took to the comments section to praise the group, with remarks such as, “This perfectly showcases why NMIXX is all about vocals,” and “Their harmonies are unmatched. This is why K-pop dominates globally.”
NMIXX previously gained attention in October 2024 as the first K-pop act to participate in the Billboard Latin Music Week, further solidifying their position as a global powerhouse. With their growing recognition and standout performances, the group’s 2025 endeavors are highly anticipated.
