Actress Kim Min Ha to return to the drama scene with tvN's 'Typhoon Company.'
On January 13, Xports News confirmed that actress Kim Min Ha has been cast in tvN’s upcoming drama 'Typhoon Company.'
Set during the late 1990s financial crisis, 'Typhoon Company' follows the journey of a young CEO who fights to save his late father’s small business, Typhoon Company, while navigating the challenges faced by his family. The series will be directed by Lee Na Jung and written by Jang Hyun Sook.
Since her debut in 2016, Kim Min Ha has steadily built her acting career with roles in popular dramas such as 'School 2017' and 'Partners for Justice.' However, it was her powerful portrayal of young Sunja in the Apple TV+ series 'Pachinko' (2022) that earned her global recognition, leaving a lasting impression on both domestic and international audiences.
Following the success of 'Pachinko,' Kim Min Ha took on diverse roles, including her 2023 appearance in Disney+’s original series 'Light Shop' where she played Seon Hae, a thoughtful screenwriter with a heightened sensitivity to the world around her. Her performance was praised for its emotional depth and nuanced storytelling.
Kim Min Ha has also been confirmed for the upcoming TVING original series 'A Week Before I Die,' (Tentative English title) set to premiere in 2025. In this youth fantasy romance, she will play Jeong Hee Wan, a carefree high school girl whose life takes a somber turn. The role marks her first step into the romance-fantasy genre, further demonstrating her versatility as an actress.
In 'Typhoon Company,' Kim Min Ha will star as Oh Mi Sook, the eldest daughter of a struggling family who enters the workforce early to support her loved ones. As a sales representative at Typhoon Company, Mi Sook is a determined and hardworking "eldest daughter" figure who takes on immense responsibilities for her family.
Fans are also eagerly anticipating her on-screen dynamic with Lee Jun Ho, who has won hearts with his performances in 'King the Land' and 'The Red Sleeve.' The pairing of Kim Min Ha and Lee Jun Ho is expected to bring both tension and warmth to the drama.
With her proven ability to excel across genres, from historical dramas to contemporary stories, viewers are eager to see how Kim Min Ha will shine in 'Typhoon Company,' which is shaping up to be another highly-anticipated tvN hit.
